Ok checked forums they said to uninstall the realtek audio, so I did and yet no mic, so I uninstalled nahimic and yet no mic. I just run Driver Booster 4, a bunch of drivers upgraded and yet still no mic. Just got it and first thing i noticed was that the microphone wasn't working. Otherwise, it's a great laptop and all, but I do wish I could have a laptop with a working headphone jack Quote from: mcsh1pat on April, Register Now! Login Register. It seems quite pointless that I own this laptop, considering I use it to produce music. Has there been any sort of update on a fix!? Specifically in my case, it's my headphone jack. When I plug it in to the device in jack it works but doesn't sound right no matter how much I mess with the settings it still sounds hollow or echos a lot.Īs for the graphics card I enable and disable the intel card all the time in the device manager to save on battery power and because certain programs run better on the intel card. I have tried different headphones in all different jacks with no luck. Especially since if you don't have the Intel drivers installed, I'm not certain you'll be able to upgrade the NVidia drivers Yeah that is not the issue. I wouldn't disable the Intel card completely either, that's not a good thing. I don't have any problems with my GT70 and getting it to work with any program I throw at it, from Adobe Premiere to Photoshop to games to video converting applications. I hate asking this, as I feel you've probably already checked this, but are you certain that you're inserting the plug into the correct jack, as well as inserting it far enough? Is it perhaps hitting the top sloped edge of the laptop as you insert it, and then not allowing it to be fully inserted? This would help to perhaps explain the problem As far as the video card issues, I can't really say. I guess I can live with the graphics card problems, but can't live without the headphones working. It plays the videos fine when I enable the intel driver again. It works fine now except exported video is very glitchy on the players. Finally I just disabled the intel driver in the device manager. I changed the global setting to Nvidia - still nothing. I went into Nvidia and changed the certain programs that I wanted to run the Nvidia card - still wont run off of it. I have been having a heck of a time with the graphics cards.
I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the newest version of realtek. Also nothing pops up from realtek when I plug them in. When I plug them in it only works in one ear and the onboard speakers still play.
I was wondering if anyone could tell me why the headphone jack isn't working properly on my new laptop.
